Programme "Merlion PhD 2009"

MERLION PhD: Call for PhD candidates

The candidates have to be involved, for their PhD studies, in a French-Singaporean research project of which the themes are in accordance with the scientific priorities of both partners.

MERLION  is the first Franco-Singaporean collaboration conducted by research institutions in both countries to facilitate and cultivate the formation of joint scientific research.   MERLION  is now in its fourth successful year since its launch in 2006 by the Science and Higher Education Section of the French Embassy in Singapore and is the section’s flagship programme. The 2008 call for projects garnered 69 joint research proposals from Singapore, an impressive 39% increase over last year’s call.

Another programme that goes hand-in-hand with MERLION   is its spin-off, the MERLION PhD  programme.  Like MERLION , MERLION PhD  is based on the same guiding principles of transparency and quality evaluation.  The MERLION PhD  programme is designed to attract high-calibre potential PhD candidates.  Successful candidates are provided with scholarships to pursue half of their PhD curriculum in France.

This is a quality programme that we believe your organisation and researchers can greatly benefit from.  Thus, we would like to invite you to participate.  We are pleased to inform you that the 2009 Call for Projects for the Merlion Programme is now open!  Until 31 July 2009 we will be accepting online submissions.
