Abstract

This book deals with the acquisition and extraction of the various morphological features of the electrocardiogram signals covering filtering techniques, different feature extractions and their use as input into artificial neural network for classification of cardiac diseases, use of phase space plots and different parametric modeling techniques for detection of cardiac abnormalities, dynamic methods of heart rate variability quantification using methods such as Lyapunov exponents, correlation dimension, poincare geometry, approximate entropy and detrended fluctuation analysis, various autoregressive and neuro-fuzzy modeling, visualization of voluminous ECG data, fuzzy logic based data fusion to analysis and display of the heterogeneous signals for the detection of life threatening states, non-invasive methods for analysis of the aortic pressure waveform and extraction of  diagnostic parameters for assessing cardiac function, and concludes about the future of cardiac signal processing leading to next generation research topics which directly impacts the cardiac health care.
