About Us

Situated at Block 8 Level Three of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the Biomedical Engineering (BME) was established by ECE in 1994 to provide support to staff/student projects that are related to Biomedical Engineering.

In 2001, the role of the centre was expanded when Ngee Ann Polytechnic pioneered the launch of a 3-year diploma course in biomedical engineering. The demand for the course exceeded our expectations. In 2005, the course intake was increased to 80 students. Since then other polytechnics have also joined in and are offering similar biomedical engineering courses, with some variations.

OUR MISSION:

To develop expertise and train manpower in Biomedical Engineering.

OUR GOALS

  • To train students in Biomedical Engineering (BME)
  • To supervise and support final year BME-related projects
  • To facilitate expertise development among staff
  • To collaborate with research organisations
  • To partner with industry in commercialising research findings.

Opening Hours*: Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

* Final Year Students enjoy extended access hours with their access cards.
